For well over 100 years,
electrolysis has proven to be the
most effective method in permanent hair removal. It is
the only method that the FDA recognizes as safe and
effective. The technique of inserting a fine thin probe
into the follicle and applying heat (either shortwave or
galvanic) is used to destroy the germanitive cells where
hair growth originates.
There are three modalities used today, shortwave blend,
and galvanic. In my practice I use all three methods
depending on the client's condition. Shortwave is
effective for medium to light hairs but blend is a much
better technique for very coarse hair especially in the
chin area. Sometimes depending on the circumstances, I
will use straight galvanic or slow thermolysis. If there
are metal implants, (ex. teeth, knee) galvanic or blend
can not be used: therefore shortwave or slow thermolysis
is the appropriate method.
In my practice, I use state of the art, computer
assisted Apilus technology designed to deliver efficacy
and comfort. Also another epilator I use for very coarse
hair is the Clareblend which provides a gentle, slow
rise in heat ensuring effective destruction of the hair
follicle. Choosing an electrologist who is proficient in
all these methods will ensure that the clients treatments
will be effective and comfortable.
Continuity is the key to successful electrolysis. I
will do my part to make each appointment as convenient
and comfortable as possible. Keeping your treatments as
scheduled, will ensure that you will have excellent
results. Being in practice for thirteen years, I know I
can provide you with the best possible results with
confidentiality and the highest standards of infection
control.
